Single deadly car accident took lives of 18 people after a commuter bus collided head-on with a truck and went up in flames on Sunday, March 6, at Buzaye village near the city of Bauchi.

FRSC personnel are conveying accident victims
Confirming the accident, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesman, Rilwanu Suleiman said: “All the 17 passengers and the driver were burnt to death in the fire.”

All the victims were taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) mortuary for postmortem examinations. It was reported that the bus was returning from Nigeria’s capital Abuja while the truck was heading towards the central city of Jos.
18 people died in ghastly car accident
So far, only two deceased victims were identified: a bus driver — Alhaji Adamu Maijama’a, aged 45, of Jahum, Bauchi state and Yahaya Umar, aged 41, of Unguwan Dawaki, Bauchi. The case is under investigation, the actual cause of the accident is yet to be established.
