– Idoma youths have berated APC candidate Daniel Onjeh for challenging David Mark’s victory at the election petition tribunal
– Onjeh’s return to the election petition tribunal has been described as a waste of time by some Idoma politicians
The candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last Benue south senatorial re-run election, Daniel Onjeh has been berated by some Idoma youths and opinion leaders for challenging David Mark’s victory at the election petition tribunal.
The INEC declared Senator David Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the Benue south senatorial rerun election. Senator Mark polled a total of 84,192 votes, to beat Onjeh of the APC with 71,621 votes.
The Idoma youths described Onjeh’s return to the election petition tribunal as a huge joke and a sheer waste of time.

They urged him to withdraw the push and go to David Mark so that he can embrace him as his child.
According to Vanguard, commenting on the issue, youth leader in Benue south, Ada Fred Odangla, described Onjeh as a self-centered individual who was playing desperate politics. He said Onjeh doesn’t have Idoma agenda at heart.
“He is out there to make money and going to the Tribunal this term again shows he is not out to protect the Idoma nation. But I can tell you that it is a waste of time. “
“Being a young and vibrant Idoma man, he should hold on a bit. This term, we need a David Mark to continue to protect our interests. Nigeria is a big country with many tribes, so we need someone like him who can protect our interests,” Odangla said.
Likewise, the acting district head of Agatu, Emmanuel Oyigadu, urged Onjeh to withdraw his petition and come to the table for dialogue.

In the same vein, Jane Edeh, a top female politician described Onjeh as a bad loser who was gradually driving his political career into oblivion by refusing to concede defeat.
Senator Mark won the Benue rerun election with a considerable margin after the first Benue south senatorial election conducted in March 2015 was nullified at the Appeal Court due to clerical error in the date entered on the final results sheet by the returning officer.
But his contender Daniel Onjeh has refused to concede defeat.
