Engr. Segun Oni, who is the acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently alleged that the killings of its members in Rivers state were politically motivated.
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Governor Nyesom Wike
The acting national chairman made the allegation while speaking with newsmen at the party’s national secretariat on the security situation in Rivers state ahead the National Assembly and state’s House of Assembly rerun election scheduled to hold in the state on Saturday, March 19.
Oni during the press briefing accused Governor Nyesom Wike of being responsible for the situation in the state. He insisted that the governor as the chief security officer in the state should be held responsible for any misfortunes that befall APC members.
Nigerians watching keenly as the events unfold in the state took to a micro-blogging site (Twitter) to pour out their feelings about the regrettable situation in the state.
We all need to understand that Nigeria & Nigerian
lives is what matters most, not PDP or APC. Let’s
condemn violence in Rivers state— Prof Attahiru Jega (@AttahiruJega_) March 15, 2016
Since Amaechi returned to Rivers State, it’s been trouble, tears, blood and death. This is no coincidence.

The rhetorics from Amaechi & co has emboldened these merchants of death in Rivers State. No political ambition is worth the blood of anybody

In Rivers State, in your very eyes a PDP member suddenly joins the APC and so do APC so frequently like that. So, why kill your brother?
— Chiazo Egbukwu (@ChiazorSpeaks) March 15, 2016
Amaechi is more interested in Rivers State politics than manning his ministry!

I hope they don’t declare State of Emergency in Rivers State. I cannot be living under siege.
— Ebuka Akara (@ebuka_akara) March 15, 2016
“I support the military deployment for the rerun in Rivers State because policing has failed” – Amaechi. He had kicked against military b4

In 2004, I spent more than a month with FCID, investigating Murder & Cultism in Rivers state. Just forget it. Cultism is like state policy.
— Nnamdi Anekwe-Chive (@nnamdianekwe) March 14, 2016
Amaechi benefited from the cultism/chaos of Rivers state. He is one of those that laid the current foundation, and should stop whining!
