Nigerians have reacted characteristically to the ouster of the Super Eagles from the 2017 Africa cup of nations billed to hold in Gabon.
The coach Samson Siasia-led side were beaten by a lone strike at Alexandria in spite of their lengthy spells of dominating possession and proper coordination.
The Eagles had been condemned to win the match after Friday, March 25 draw against the Pharaohs at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna, but their high hopes were dashed by the resilient north Africans who will now qualify for the bi-annual tournament at the expense of their west African counterparts.
But, Nigerians who stayed up to watch the match on Tuesday evening, lashed out at former coach, Sunday Oliseh for destroying the team beyond repairs before his shocking resignation just weeks before the all important double-header.
In a series of tweets, Nigerians believe the hiring of the former coach was a mistake on the part of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

@Sawadinho1 @Mekus_Mekus Keshi was taking us no where, maybe we shouldn’t have employed Oliseh in d first place

Where did it go wrong for Nigeria? Oliseh’s appointment, d FA’s lack of focus or SiaSia’s Sentiments? Even d drawing board is missing 😟

The NFF is filled with ineffective muppets, but I’m still blaming Oliseh. Blaming the FF is a convenient wagon. Use facts to tell me why…

Pinnick should be punched for calling Oliseh the Guardiola of Africa. What a useless coach

Oliseh was a wrong choice from onset

So we can’t frame Oliseh for coup-plotting or something? I really think he should go to jail. Let’s tell Fulani Herdsmen he killed a cow.
— ElektrikBlu (@EuginhoCortez) March 29, 2016
@temiokomi The NFF is to be blamed for appointing an I.T student “Oliseh” when we had Chartered nd Professional coaches to select from.
— david titiloye (@DavidTitiloye) March 29, 2016
Till tomorrow I still think it was a mistake hiring Sunday Oliseh in the first place considering how he left super Eagles.
— Kelechi Aminu® (@femiTRIPP) March 29, 2016
