Photos obtained by The Trent have revealed how Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state and other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) went for thanksgiving after Saturday’s legislative rerun election in the state.
The rerun election had been marred by inconsistencies, especially with the violence reported from every part of the state.
Several casualties were recorded, people lost their lives in the process, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stopped announcing results in areas where elections were concluded, and canceled the voting process in some other areas.
There were accusations and counter accusations by the PDP and the opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC) as fears emerged that President Muhammadu Buhari might declare a state of emergency in the state.
However, on Tuesday, March 22, Wike, Uche Secondus and other members of the PDP were seen dancing during a thanksgiving service, appreciating God for a successful election rerun.
